Protect Your Passion
We want the show to be the only thing that brings the house down. Understanding your legal safety responsibilities is key to a professional live music career.
For Venues
Premises & Event Liability
Employers Liability: Mandatory in the UK if you have staff, including sound engineers, bar team, or security.
Public Liability: Protects your business if a guest trips over a cable or gets injured while watching a performance.
Specific Cover: Check that your policy covers **Live Performances**. Some standard pub policies have restrictions on live music volumes or stage setups.
For Artists
Public Liability (PLI)
What it covers: Accidental injury to a member of the public or damage to the venue's property during your performance or load-in.
Instrument Insurance: Your PLI policy usually doesn't cover your personal equipment. Look into specific "Musical Instrument Insurance" for theft, transit damage, or accidental drops.
Many professional venues in the GigMassive network require proof of **£1m - £5m PLI** before you can take the stage.
